blue screen - "hardware malfunction" - gateway laptop (one year)?

Jose Bouliouris: there's not a lot that can be suggested without a hands on of the machine to check it physically. It may be that you dot not have enough space on the hard drive for the temp file or that you have not cleared out the temp files. This is a huge intensive use of the machine and if the machine heats the cpu too much the fan may not be able to cope. How long since it was cleaned of dust and hairs etc.

Oscar Waddups: It's likely (if it's making a noise), that your graphics processor/GPU fan (or your actual CPU fan is malfunctioning causing overheating and a crash. I hope it isn't your hard drive, which is another possibility.

Dedra Furguson: i cleaned out the fan about 2 weeks ago i keep my laptop open on memoriesi still have a lot of space lefti do disk clean ups and i have deleted temp filesand my laptop is scheduled for defragment monthly

Dana Russian: Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solve! d by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://rcyj.com
