my car makes squeaking noises help please?

Perry Deshazior: check steering fluid

Torrie Weissenbach: without seeing your car, commonly brake pads have wear indicators on them, basically a flap of metal that hangs off the pad and at a predetermined point in the life of the pad the metal touches the rotor and makes noise causing the average person to have the car checked out, usually it will start in a turn and get progressively worse. this is there to keep you from ruining your rotors. the engine light has nothing to do with it. go somewhere and have the brakes checked or jack the car up and pull off one of the front wheels and check the pads yourself, you probably need a brake job...Show more

Melina Minneweather: 90% of the time its the belt. If this is the first time ever you've changed the belt, make sure to check out any and all idler pulleys since those can squeal, and you may want to replace your belt tensioner as well if you've been running it with the loose belt for a while.

Gertrude Darke! : Have an auto repair shop check for worn brake pads or a bad wheel bearing.

Arden Strachn: Probably a wheel bearing they will still roll freely down the road until the wheel falls off. It will seize up, snap off the wheel studs, then you have to figure where the tire went or hope it doesn't hit someone or something. I had it happen while I was making a turn and had to skid into a gas station parking lot on three wheels.
