Salvatore Walls: maybe you should try being vegetarian first, that might help you to ease into it a little bit more.
Lino Cawthorne: Cheat all you want. Just don't call yourself a "vegan" until you really are. Four days of continual cheating does not a vegan make.
Leticia Laiben: You do what ever you feel comfortable with! I try to be a vegetarian that eats poultry and fish... but it doesn't always work out well due to the fact that I am young and still live with my family so sometimes I have to eat what my family serves. Good Luck! -Magdalene
Janean Guz: vegan is a lifestyle, not a diet.
Beau Starcevic: You're not a vegan if you're eating chicken, dairy and eggs. There's no need for you to do any of that. You can buy or make soup with vegetable broth and make cake and cookies with vegan ingredients. If you want to cheat, great, but don't call yourself a vegan until you are. Tell people you're transitioning to vegan or something like that.Vegan! ism is only difficult if you make it difficult. If you're trying to rely on convenience food it might be hard (or expensive.) Get a couple of good cookbooks and make your own food. It's cheaper, it's healthier and you can get all the variety you want without having to cheat. I highly recommend "Veganomicon" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero. It's got a lot of great information for beginning vegans, but is plenty sophisticated. Lots of yummy baked goods, too....Show more
Lewis Ranft: It depends on your reason for being a vegan as to whether or not it's "okay to cheat". If you are concerned about your health, then "cheating" doesn't lessen that threat. If you are a vegan to protest animal abuse, then it depends on how badly you feel about the chicken or how long you want to feel "really guilty" (which feels worse....the guilt or denying your appetite? lol). When changing ones diet drastically, however, it is not a bad idea to do it gradually, unles! s, of course, in the case of allergies, etc. Good luck....Sho! w more
Merlin Fleischhacker: yea sure...whos gonna know
Ollie Desalvo: If you are new at it you may want to try to go vegetarian first and still consume eggs and milk, and then slowly take away eggs and then dairy. Obviously, like everyone has probably told you, make sure you get enough iron, vitamin b12, and protein. When being a vegetarian, dont eat that soup with the chicken, and just dont cheat. Because you are either going vegan/vegetarian for yourself, your religion, or for animal rights, and you are only cheating yourself or your beliefs, which only affects you, regardless if you are just starting....Show more
