Bud Espenshade: Well if you have cable, I believe you can get a cable card for nothing except the installation fee. If you are subscribed to digital cable, you should be able to get HD programming. Comcast doesn't have any special subscription for HD. Comcast's packages are Digital Starter, Digital Prefered, Digital Prefered Plus, and Digital Premier. In addition to that, they advertise a HD receiver or HD DVR. You can also add on special packages to any of those 4 digital packages I just mentioned like NFL Red Zone etc. So all HD is is just getting a box to support it, or in TiVo case, get a cable card to support it. I paid for the life time subscription which was $399.99.My Grandpa gets digital starter. He just pays $7 a month extra for a digital box. Since we already have Digital Prefered and a HD TiVo, all we need is a cable card. Since we already have! on receiver from Comcast, it will cost us just $2.04 a month.!
